T-Shirt Collection: The Sandlot

Basically, if you don't know the reference you've never seen the terrific 90s film The Sandlot.

And, if that's the case, go, right now, and get a copy of it and peruse. After all, it's summertime, the perfect time for a baseball movie.

P.S. Porter looks a bit frantic and bug-eyed in the image. Chalk that up to my fuzzy self-portrait cell phone camera photographic skills. You're welcome.

I'm Gonna Put It In The Want Ads

I need to start a new feature on the blog.

This is from the Community Exchange page in my neck of the woods, a continual source of amazement and hilarity and head scratching.

Real posts, real people.

Please enjoy ...

Some Kind Of Oblivious Über-Genius

Think about it a minute:

You have a throw pillow that has two different designs, one on each side. The design is nothing more than stitching across the face of one side; the opposite side of the pillow is plain, no stitching whatsoever.

One pillow, two different sides. Got it? Good.

Now, add to the picture the fact there are three pillows all together. All are identical with two different sides as noted.

These throw pillows get put atop a bed when made. Doing a little math, if you were to make the bed and randomly toss the pillows on top of it, what are the odds you would have all three pillows aligned on the side without stitching? You'd have a one in six shot, roughly a 17% chance on any given day.

Now ... let's say you made the bed, oh, 3 times a week over the course of 6 months. You will have made the bed 78 times in that period. Know what your chances are of that stitchless side coming up every single time in those 78 times? Once in the course of four hundred sixty-eight random attempts. Translation: You have about a .0021% chance of this little trifecta coming up in each and every one of those 78 days.

But that's EXACTLY what happened to me! I randomly aligned those pillows with the stitched side away from view each time I made the bed over the course of 78 different scenarios!

That's fantastic!

Wow! A .0021% chance and I nailed it in every single instance for 6 straight months! I must be some sort of mathematical
über-genius or something, right ... ??!!?

Or ...

... it could simply be I realized
just the other day, for the very first time, there are two sides to the pillows ...

T-Shirt Collection: Pink

Yeah, you've seen this one before.

But I'm including it here again as part of the official T-shirt collection.

You might notice it's worn and sweaty looking. That's because one of the favorite places I like wearing it is out in public and especially so when I'm working construction and around people. It's a conversation starter.

Besides, regardless of the fact you've seen it previously, she beat the bastard.

And that's worth repeating ...

Giving 100%

I don't know what to do, exactly.

I mean, there's nothing really I can do except wait patiently until the morning dawns and check in to see if my friend Matt is all right.

Here ... this is what I'm talking about. See for yourself:

See what I mean? Such energy expenditure - and the reason for its disbursement ("I thought my grilled cheese was burning, so, you know, it was an emergency. My hamstrings will be barking tomorrow, no doubt, but I'd do it again if I had to. #priorities") - certainly calls for a check up on the man. Right?

Look at that output at the bottom of the graphic: 16.8 minutes per mile. Now, that might not seem like much to the Average Joe but in comparison to his last few updates (each totaling a combined distance of 0.00 miles) well ... you can see why I'm concerned.

So ... what to do? Hurry up and wait. That's all I can do. That and hope and pray he's all right come the morn.

.......... Ruprecht ( can't STOP worrying the consequences of Matt's actions )

Update: 7/24/15, 6:58 a.m.: I've seen Matt post on social media this morning. He appears to be fine. Though, if his hamstrings are barking, he didn't make mention of it.

T-Shirt Collection: The Man Of Steel

Granted: Kal-El's "hope" emblem on my shirt has seen better days ...

But it's still worn with pride.

It's Superman, after all.
